The project to expand the cultivation of grains and legumes in the Southern Sector Association in Sana'a GovernorateMonday, 8 Jumada al-Akhira 1446 AH corresponding to December 9, 2024 ADThe project to expand the cultivation of basic crops of grains and legumes in the Southern Sector Multipurpose Agricultural Cooperative Association, and development associations in the isolation.The first phase of the project, which is implemented by the Agriculture and Irrigation Office in the governorate with the support of the Agricultural Projects and Initiatives Financing Unit, and the supervision of the Agricultural and Fisheries Committee in the governorate, includes the supply of a quantity of grains and legumes and the receipt of approximately 6 tons of the fourth batch of beans and tamarisk, through the cooperative association.The project comes as a translation of the directives of the revolutionary leadership, the Supreme Political Council, and the Supreme Agricultural and Fisheries Committee to encourage farmers to expand the cultivation of grains and legumes, which contributes to reducing the import bill and achieving food security.The distribution of improved seeds comes within the framework of efforts to activate the agricultural front to confront economic challenges.. and the launch of farmersTo contribute to achieving agricultural development and benefiting from seeds in cultivating large areas of grain and legume crops.While the project comes within the contractual farming program to reduce the import bill by supplying the market with quantities of grain and legume crops and the Ministry of Agriculture's keenness to overcome difficulties facing farmers to cultivate arable areas.The Agricultural Projects and Initiatives Financing Unit in the governorate provides credit facilities, guarantees and good loans to farmers through cooperative societies, including providing a good interest-free loan to the Southern Sector Association, and approximately (6) tons of beans and tamarisk were received in the fourth batch.And that farmers should be keen to benefit from the support in increasing crops, as it would achieve self-sufficiency.The visit to the General Corporation for Grain Development and Production was attended by the Contractual Agriculture Officer Amin Al-Sabry and the Financial OfficerAbdulsalam Al-Saraji and the Contractual Agriculture Accountant Abdulghani Al-Dhabiani and the Financial Accountant Fouad Al-Rashidi and the Storekeeper of the Association AliMohammed Al-Rashidi.✒Development MediaAhmed Azman
